Flanger

Flanger is a module that creates a swirling, swooshing effect by mixing the original audio signal with a delayed version of itself. The delay time is modulated by a low-frequency oscillator (LFO), resulting in a characteristic "whooshing" sound.

Flanger module

Parameters

Frequency: The speed at which the delay time is modulated, measured in Hertz (Hz). Offset (ms): The base delay time in milliseconds, which is modulated by the LFO to create the flanger effect.

Example usage

  • Use high frequency Flanger to add mystery or magical feel to your sound effects, especially with variadic offset
  • High frequency Square wave in Flanger can create robotic or alien sounds
  • Low Frequency, low Offset flanger can make sound spooky and unsettling
